We are faithful community Oak Grove

Welcome to the community.

A welcome letter from Pastor Stephen Johnson

Hello.

Thank you for checking us out! Welcome to Oak Grove Church of God! Websites are a wonderful way of finding out what you want to know. We are glad you want to know about us, and we certainly want to know you.

The Churches of God began in the US among German immigrants in Pennsylvania. As the country and settlements spread so did the church. As settlers came to Indiana so did ministers and members who began churches. Oak Grove Church is one of the first churches in Whitley County.

Our church and culture has changed but our values have not. Oak Grove believes in the Bible and passionate worship. We believe in a conversion experience and growing in grace and holiness. We believe in sharing our faith. We believe in strong families. We believe in missions. We believe in ministry to every generation. These beliefs drive what we do and how we spend our money as we give.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND! Annual Miami Village Block Party and Picnic.

There is NO SERVICE at Oak Grove on Sunday Sept. 6. INSTEAD we have a tent set up at Miami Village Mobile Home Park 4614 E. Old Trail Rd.

WORSHIP is 11:00 AM. We will be setting up before that. The Tent is up! If you know folks at Miami Village, contact them. We want them to come to worship as well as enjoy our picnic together after the service. There will be a special time for the children too near the BB court.

FUN- We have games and 2 Bounce houses. There is face painting too- which is always a favorite.

FOOD- We will have a picnic after the service. Food prep is slightly different this year because we are trying to have the least no. of people touch food. There will be plenty. Bring friends.

FELLOWSHIP- Tables will be set up. You can practice as much social distancing as you want. We will have some Bibles and Christian literature out as well to be taken. Bring a personal lawn chair in order to visit. There will be chairs in the meal area.

PARKING is at the farm across the road with a shuttle! There are signs.

We want all who can come to come to come and show our love to our neighbors and to enjoy a great day! You ARE the light of the world!

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
