We are faithful community Oak Grove

Welcome to the community.

A welcome letter from Pastor Stephen Johnson

Thank you for checking us out! Welcome to Oak Grove Church of God! Websites are a wonderful way of finding out what you want to know. We are glad you want to know about us, and we certainly want to know you.

The Churches of God began in the US among German immigrants in Pennsylvania. As the country and settlements spread so did the church. As settlers came to Indiana so did ministers and members who began churches. Oak Grove Church is one of the first churches in Whitley County.

Our church and culture has changed but our values have not. Oak Grove believes in the Bible and passionate worship. We believe in a conversion experience and growing in grace and holiness. We believe in sharing our faith. We believe in strong families. We believe in missions. We believe in ministry to every generation. These beliefs drive what we do and how we spend our money as we give.

Last Sunday Sept. 27 we dedicated the Crawford Memorial Boundless Playground! It has been a 2 year journey. The Lord has had surprises for around many corners. I am sure they are not over!

On Oct. 3, from 2-4 PM we will have an open house for our Community at the Playground. This will follow a Fall Festival type of theme. There will be candy bags for the children. There will be donuts and cider in the Hall, face painting and children's sing along with Pat Murphy on guitar. This is a great opportunity to bring friends and introduce them to "OUT RAECHING" church. So often we want to bring them to a service which is "In Reaching." Its good but often they feel awkward. This shows our community we care about everyone and desire to raise the quality of life in Whitley Co. and beyond. We also pray it will draw people to Christ. Bring neighbors and friends to this event!

God is on the move at Oak Grove. Be part of it!

On Oct. 4 we will have World Wide Communion Sunday in both services. The elements will be in individual pre-filled cups with a wafer on top. This is for safety and health concerns.  Most of the World is observing the Lord's table. It is a great show of unity. We hope to see you in worship. Masks are otional. Hand sanitizer is available. We are also on FB live. If you will be viewing from home, make sure to have juice and bread with you so you can commune with us.

If you have any questions please call Pastor Steve at 260-229-9381.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
