Our goal at Oak Grove is to each week provide an environment that allows the individual to engage with God in worship.
Worship is defined by Webster’s dictionary as the act of honoring with extravagant love and extreme submission. Therefore, true worship is defined by the priority we place on who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities. What we do on Sunday morning should flow out of a daily lifestyle of devotion and holiness. Singing hymns and choruses, coming before the Lord in prayer, giving our tithe (offering) each Sunday, are all expressions of worship.
The worship team at Oak Grove exists to help our congregation with those expressions of worship, engaging hearts with an amazing God.
Instrumentalists and vocalists are always needed for our worship team. Anyone with either instrumental or vocal abilities (or both!) are welcome to audition for our team. Not to worry, the audition is easy and mostly just an opportunity to get to know you a little better and to hear about your heart for God.
Media and Sound are also an important element of our worship experience. Operating our sound system or running our media presentation equipment is an opportunity for those with technical abilities to serve the Lord. Complete training is available for anyone interested in this part of the ministry.
“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol
Him with music and song.
For the Lord is the great God, the great King
above all gods.”
